Marylanders Online is a free, statewide program of the University of Maryland Extension (UME) in partnership with the College of Information (INFO) working to promote digital literacy, equity, and inclusion throughout the state of Maryland.
The Marylanders Online program serves as an accessible digital literacy resource that works to close the digital divide experienced by the thousands of Maryland residents who lack access to the internet, a digital device, or the skills to utilize either. Through the provision of quality resources, tools, education, and support, Marylanders Online's goal is to promote digital literacy throughout the state of Maryland.
Navigating the Marylanders Online Website
The Get Help page provides instructional materials for self-guided learners. The Give Help page is geared towards educators, digital navigators, or those teaching others about technology, programs, and services. The Get Connected page provides information and resources to help Marylanders stay connected to the digital world, such as locating WiFi, securing a device, and finding affordable internet options.
Maryland Tech Support Helpline
Maryland residents can connect with the Marylanders Online helpline, a free service staffed by a team of trained Digital Navigators providing computer help and technology support through virtual, one-on-one sessions. Marylanders Online is accessed by calling the toll-free hotline 1-866-206-8467 during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or by emailing marylandersonline@umd.edu. Resources for Partners and People
Partners can access a repository of self-guided training resources to share with their community on this website. Reach out to request a University of Maryland Tech Educator on-site to support community training, device distribution, or device setup and tech support. Train-the-trainer programs are also available to empower partnering agencies to offer their own community-based computer training and support services internally. Partners are invited to add their digital literacy resources for inclusion on the website.
Promotional materials for Marylanders Online are available in multiple languages and several formats: flyers, brochures, and social media graphics. Contact Marylanders Online to have materials shipped to your location.
