Maria Barga is a Tech Educator at the University of Maryland Extension, dedicated to serving Southern Maryland. With a background in graphic and web design, she was the first educator to join Marylanders Online and has since developed partnerships with 20 different organizations in the region. Maria works with libraries, local governments, senior centers, religious institutions, law enforcement agencies, and nonprofits to reach a diverse range of communities, including seniors, people with disabilities, youth, low-income families, unhoused populations, and people of color. She also supports organizations and volunteers across the state as the Senior Planet Administrator under the University of Maryland’s License.
When Maria is not busy serving her community, she enjoys gardening and painting in nature.
