Amy is a public servant, systems thinker, innovative policy expert, and storyteller with a passion for closing the digital divide and ensuring all Americans can thrive in the 21st century's digital world. She has studied and worked in the digital inclusion field since 2011.
Prior to joining NDIA, Amy served as the State of North Carolina’s first digital inclusion and policy manager for the Broadband Infrastructure Office, a Division of the Department of Information Technology. She led the office’s design of digital inclusion programs, policies, and tools and helped build the state’s digital equity ecosystem in addition to leading the research initiatives for the office.
Her interest in technology spans beyond broadband. For several years Amy was a freelance writer and consultant, contributing to tech-focused publications where she covered North Carolina’s startup ecosystem and the startups, people, and organizations that contribute to it.
Born and raised in North Carolina’s Appalachian mountains, Amy is a proud Tar Heel, and holds a master’s degree in public administration and a bachelor’s degree in political science—both from UNC-Chapel Hill.
